“Media properties” sounds much better than “some written stuff”

I have just registered Granite Geek as a trade name with the New Hampshire Secretary of State, something I’ve been meaning to do for years. It cost fifty bucks, but now I’m official owner of the name “Granite Geek Media Properties.”  Woo-hoo!

What’s with that pompous and potentially misleading name, you ask? “Granite Geek” was too unspecific – you wouldn’t believe how many trade names have “granite” or “geek” in them – and I couldn’t think of what else to add.

“Granite Geek Amalgamated Enterprises”? “Granite Geek Tool & Die”? “Granite Geek Empire Of All I Survey”? “Random Stuff Under Granite Geek Label”?

There’s a reason i didn’t go into marketing.
