While I was on vacation, the news came down that Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest won’t be shut even though the U.S. Forest Service is being gutted by an administration that kills things it doesn’t like and pretends it’s for for “efficiency.” Or “national security”. Or whatever random cover story they make up that day. NHPR story is here.
However, Bartlett Experimental Forest, a second similar facility in New Hampshire, is still on the chopping block. I lamented the closing of Bartlett last month.
