Science Cafe NH takes December off but not Science on Tap, the science-in-a-bar discussion series run by SEE Science Center in Manchester.
It’s session on Tuesday, Dec. 5, will discuss winter farming in NH. “Ssome enterprising farmers have found ways to extend the growing season to what has traditionally been the off season. From hydroponics and aquaponics to tunnels and greenhouses. Join us to discuss the science and technology that makes winter growing possible and economical in NH.”
Panelists are Andrew Ogden of sustainable agriculture and food systems at UNH; William Dunkerley iof Dunk’s Mushroom Products & Foraging; and Mark Moran of Hopewell Farm in Newbury.
Science on Tap is held at Stark Brewing Co. in Bo’s Lounge and function room at 500 Commercial Street Manchester, NH on the first Tuesday of each month from September through June. Doors open at 5 p.m., discussion begins at 6. Admission is free.
