I’m not quite sure why I’m so fascinated by the “tiny house” fad, since they’re basically an upscale mobile home, but I am. I like the way they bring interesting design elements to maximize usage, things you normally can find only in houseboats, and I like their attempt to balance out the pointless fixation of more-house-equals-better-house with funkier-house-equals-better-house.
Either way, I enjoyed doing this story about a program in which New Hampshire vo-tech schools compete to build tiny houses.
I thought the law set a minimum size for a residence to receive an occupancy permit at 450 ft2. Ancient memory, haven’t checked lately.
I don’t know of any state minimum, as compared to community housing/zoning codes, but my knowledge isn’t extensive. There’s nothing in an RSA, certainly.
