A group of 60 people participated in a winter tour on Saturday, February 14, 2026, organized by the Forest Society and UNH Cooperative Extension. This tour focused on an ongoing timber harvest located off Dudley Pond Road in Henniker. One of the highlights of the tour was a clear-cut area, which was one of several types of timber clearing explored. The trees and branches left scattered around the hill are intentionally left behind and are referred to as "slash."
