This was my view driving home last night (picture taken through a rain-spotted windshield as I waited for the very damp guy with Mayer Tree Service to flip the Stop sign over to Slow).
Instead of cutting down trees next to the power lines, they cut them upward. The crane laid the tree down on the left side of the road, where a chainsaw-wielding guy quickly cut it into manageable lengths. Impressive.
(By the way, while writing the headline I realized I had no idea what a “petard” is. A small bomb, says wikipedia.)
