Among the blizzard of bills that either were or weren’t signed into law this year, I missed HB1335, which says:
I. No state agency shall use any software platform developed, in whole or in part, by Kaspersky Lab or any entity of which Kaspersky Lab has a majority ownership.
New Hampshire really has it in for Kaspersky because of its ties to Russia. The federal ban on the use of the software was pushed in large part of U.S. Sen. (and former NH governor) Jeanne Shaheen – and now this, which was signed into law by Gov. Sununu this week.
I don’t know if the state government had any Kaspersky-related software that has to be booted, but I suppose it’s better safe than sorry.
