I got my pilot’s license many decades ago at a Tennessee airport so small that you had to buzz the runway once before landing, to scare off the deer, but I haven’t flown since Reagan was president. But I remain interested in what is known as general aviation, so I was happy to write a story about the status of the Concord Municipal Airport.

To summarize: It has seen better days.

But you should read the story (by clicking right here) if for no other reason than to read about a cringe-inducing New Yorker portrait of its lobby. Plus, the sidebar is quite good, too: It’s got lots of numbers and data about local aviation.
