The InterOperability Lab at UNH has a national, even international, reputation as a good place for testing and certification of network devices and helping the development of standards. So I’m happy to see that they’ve begun a program focusing on security testing for the Internet of Things, which is an unsecured morass that is helping make the online world a disaster, as Dyn found out during that DDOS attack in late October. (And the Mirai botnet isn’t going away.)

Maybe one of these days we won’t have to worry about our networked crockpot causing havoc.
