Today I was a guest on The Exchange, the NH Public Radio talk show, as we pondered self-driving vehicles. Not entirely by design I found myself playing the skeptic about such things as whether self-driving cars would reduce traffic (me: not unless we outlaw non-self-driving cars) and how safe they are (me: very safe, until the bad guys hack into the connected system and use them to kill us).

Zeninjor Enwemeka, a digital reporter for WBUR, was also a guest. I hadn’t realized how much Massachusetts has done to encourage testing of autonomous vehicles. NH is way behind, which may not be a bad thing.

In New Hampshire, the governor vetoed a bill that would have set up a system for testing of autonomous cars in NH, which leaves us in something of a limbo.
