The Union-Leader, which knows an audience-drawing topic when it sees one, has been going all in with stories about people in the Sunapee area who think they’ve seen a mountain lion.
The latest story came Monday and in a backhanded way it acknowledged that all these sightings are in error: The headline says “Tracker: It’s only a matter of time before mountain lions return to NH” – which, of course, means that they’re not here now. And “matter or time” could mean, probably will mean, many years.
As we know, there is zero actual evidence that mountain lions are living in New Hampshire but a gazillion anecdotes about folks who are certain they’ve spotted one. Hope springs eternal!
You’re a damn fool. What you’ve written is right out of the NH Fish & Game PC talking points.
Should I change my mind because somebody else thinks the same way? No thanks – I prefer to reach conclusions based on evidence, which in this case is quite clear.
